Political prisoners faced violence during prison change

Two days ago, political prisoners – Mahammad Majidly and Babek Hasanov who are serving their prison term, were moved from prison No 16 to No 14 and faced physical violence during transfer. The prisoners were not informed beforehand about their transfer to another prison. When the prison guards came in to take them out, they had been taking a bath in the prison. The guards violently moved them out and used forces against them. The prisoners were not even allowed to say “good bye” to follow prisoners and take their personal belongings. The prisoners faced violence in the vehicle as well during transfer.

Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan yesterday made a statement and condemned the use of violence against the political prisoners and called upon the human rights defenders and Public Committee for Control of Prisons under the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan to study the situation and inform the public of the real situation.
