National Front Party condemns Armenian aggression and invites int. organizations to react
This letter intends to update you on the new war on Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict that broke out on September 27, 2020, and ask you to condemn the Armenian aggression of Azerbaijan.
Please, be noted that the Armenian Armed Forces, grossly violating almost the 26 years lasting ceasefire regime attacked Azerbaijan to gain new territories. Please, note that in March 2019 Armenia’s Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan told a gathering of Armenian community representatives in New York saying “I, as the Defense Minister [of Armenia], say that the option of return of ‘territories for peace’ will no longer exist, and I have re-formulated it into ”new territories in the event of a new war”.
The new war imposed on Azerbaijan targeted gaining new territories of Azerbaijan. How is it possible to create a second Armenian state on the land of Azerbaijan? Would any country among the existing 196 countries allow it to happen in their internationally recognized territories?
Until today the Minsk Group spearheaded the OSCE’s efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. We should say that their efforts until today did not bring to any positive result, but Azerbaijan remained devoted to the peace process and continued negotiation.
On October 10, 2020, with the Russian Federation’s mediation the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed on the humanitarian ceasefire. Unfortunately, the Armenian side did not honor its obligations coming from the humanitarian ceasefire agreement. Armenia’s deliberate targeting of civilians by the time of this letter killed 45 civilians, wounded 206, destroyed 1479 homes, 66 residential buildings, and 241 civil infrastructure. Hitting Ganja city of Azerbaijan, being located at 69 km away from the war zone with a ballistic missile, killing 10, and wounding 40 is a gross violation of international law norms, including international humanitarian law and the relevant provisions of the Geneva Conventions.
Armenia rejects to fulfill the UN Security Council Resolutions #822, #853, #874, and #884 that would enable the return of 800 000 internally displaced persons back to their homes and ignores the resolutions of the UN General Assembly of 2006 and 2008 “On the situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan”.
National Front Party calls on you to make appropriate efforts, to take the necessary decisive steps, and to carry out urgent measures for the liberation of the UN-recognized territories of Azerbaijan.
